Catch Up

Sorry for the delayed updates. Here's a glimpse of what we've been up to in Iraq and California...here we go!

Stuart:

Of course Stuart has been extremely busy leading the Marines of India Company through the deployment. They recently moved into new "homes." That is a very difficult transition for anyone to adjust to, but especially for these Marines. Stuart has told me the move went well and now they are working on getting settled. The unit that will replace 3/5 is due to arrive in early April. Stuart is really looking forward to that, as it will be the first sign that homecoming is just around the corner.

India Company was featured on Fox News!!! Stuart gave a commendable interview that I am proud of and I know his fellow Marines of 3/5 will greatly appreciate.

Cassandra:

I was fortunate enough to travel to Houston in early February. We did so many fun and exciting activities during my three and a half day stay. Just to name a few of our adventures:

Houston Symphony (P.D.Q. Bach).

Mariglyn took Susann and I shopping, lunch at Gringos.

Kemah Boardwalk with Ron and Susann and all the kids! Roller coasters, Sting Rays, perfect weather and more roller coasters.

Houston Symphony Concert sponsored by Stephen and Mariglyn, dinner at the Spaghetti Warehouse. Lots of friendly faces made for a great evening.

Parkers 10th Birthday Party!!! Confetti eggs and a roller coaster cake were a must. Ron showed off his skills on the grill and made tasty burgers! Warm weather made for a perfect day.

Visit with Grandma Frazier. I showed her our wedding album that my Aunt Cristine gave us. She really enjoyed the pictures and said, "Those pictures are just full of happiness."

Back to San Diego...and it was raining in Houston when I left. Normally it rains when I get there and continues to rain while I'm there.

I had LASIK surgery on both eyes on February 1, 2008. It was incredible! I was completely dependent on my glasses and contacts. I'm happy to say that I have not needed either one since the surgery. I'm hoping that the healing process continues to go well and that my optimal results will be 20/20 or better at the 6 month mark. Stuart is hoping to have the surgery when he comes home.

Anyone notice the number of days on the countdown clock? It's so exciting!!! About two more months until our Marine is home!

Valentine's Day 2008

What a nice surprise! Stuart has exquisite taste! Stuart and I visited this winery on our honeymoon and found this particular wine to be one of our favorites. The enclosed card made my heart melt! I am planning on saving these special bottles and opening once Stuart is home.
